How China Works

With an enabling market environment, we will be able to attract more international capital to our country for investment and business growth. We should support and encourage domestic capital and enterprises to go global.

National strategic capacity in science and technology is the focus of international competition among scientific and technological powers.

We should make the "cake" of social wealth bigger through the concerted efforts of all our people; then we should properly handle the relationship between growth and distribution by institutional means so as to share the cake fairly.

We should always be confident in our response strategy, pursue progress while ensuring stable performance, and promote economic and social development while containing COVID-19.

We should promote the great spirit that we have forged in the battle against COVID-19 in our society and turn it into a powerful force for building a modern socialist country and realizing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

As long as we continue to adapt to changing circumstances and implement precisely-targeted policies, we have all the strengths to create a new development dynamic and gain a new competitive edge.

To contain the virus and win this battle we must race against time, fight with confidence, strength and unity, and adopt a science-based approach and a targeted response.

We must make full use of the huge advantage, China's market, and steadily consolidate it to make it a strong pillar of the new development dynamic.

Working for the wellbeing of the people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the root and essence of the new development philosophy.

Having realized the First Centenary Goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, China will build on this achievement and embark on a new journey towards the Second Centenary Goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects, thus signifying the beginning of a new stage of development.

Putting the people and their lives first, China has built a strong line of defense against the virus, and…protected people's lives and health.

The country is its people, and the people are the country. As we have fought to establish and consolidate our Party's leadership over the country, we have in fact been fighting to earn and keep the people's support.

The people's support is our top political priority.

To meet their desire for a happy life is our mission.

The CPC has its foundations in the people and maintains a close bond with the people.

What are your most ardent wishes in life? Better education? A stable job, more income? or to live in a safe society? Such wishes are shared by people all over the world. And how are these wishes being met in China? All on the audiobook How China works-charting the future, brought to you by CGTN.
